Here are a few things that can quickly help you clean the stains and leave you with a shiny stainless steel sink.
Things you can use to clean your sink
- Baking Soda
- The best way to bring back the shine of your stainless steel sink, dust some baking soda and then rub it with a moist cloth.
- It is also useful in polishing the dull chrome trim of your appliances. You just have to pour baking soda on a damp sponge to rub it over the chrome. Allow it to dry and then wipe it using warm water and clean cloth.
- Ammonia
- If you are tired of those ugly looking grease stains and the soap scum buildups in your sink or your bathing tub, then try some ammonia on it.
- Scrub your sink or tub with the ammonia solution (1tbps ammonia in a gallon of hot water).
- Leave it for some time and then rinse it thoroughly with clean water.
- Toothpaste is your best friend
- It is perfectly made not only to clean your tooth but also to add a shine to your sink.
- It is good to use a non-gel toothpaste.
- Apply some toothpaste on the sink and use a soft, dry cloth to polish it.
- Then, rinse it water to remove the excess toothpaste left in the sink.
- Vinegar
- It adds the shine in your china sinks and bathtubs with just scrubbing using strong white vinegar. Then rinse the sink with clean cold water.
- If you are facing stubborn stain problems, pour 3 cups of strong white vinegar in running hot water. Then let the sink fill at the point of the stains, leave it to soak for at least four hours. After this, drain out the water from the sink or tub – to easily scrub off the stains from it.
- Flour
- To give the newness and shine to your stainless steel sink – sprinkle some flour over it.
- Then gently rub it with a soft, dry cloth.
- Rinse it with clean water to restore its warm glow and shine.
- Bleach
- Place a few paper towels on the bottom of the sink.
- Saturate the paper towels with undiluted bleach.
- Let it soak for 15 minutes to around half-hour.
- Rinse it with water and then clean it with a dry towel.
- Note – Never use bleach or colored china as it can spoil its worth, shine, and color.
- Borax
- Not just the stains, but also the rust can be cleaned with the use of borax powder.
- It is good to use for both stainless steel or porcelain sinks.
- First, make a paste with 1 cup of borax and 1/4th cup of lemon juice.
- Dab the paste on a cloth or sponge to rub the stains of the sink.
- Then rinse it with warm running water.
- This allows washing away the stains from the sink.
